A retelling of the many adventures Kirby has had over the years since 1992.
Updates Saturdays and sometimes Wednesdays.
Just baaarely made May.
So! It's been a while, huh. Since the last page went up, I've had a 23rd birthday, a college graduation ceremony, and Planet Robobot's Japanese release and immediate leakage of its English translation. That last point is probably the most relevant one to this comic, so... well, I'll see what I can do about working some of the lore contained there into the comic, but this is basically an AU anyway and I'm not gonna be adapting the game's storyline anytime soon.
Regarding the page itself, this took so long mostly because I was having a LOT of trouble with the script. I had a few things that needed to happen - the revelation of the secret contender, the creation of the Rainbow Heart - as well as figuring out what to have each character do so no one was just standing around doing nothing the whole time.
Looking back, it was a mistake to have made the secret contender a thing near the beginning of the arc. In the end, he only served as an unneeded complexity to scripting. At least he got to occupy Keeby.
As far as upcoming updates - I'm hoping to have the last two pages of this arc ready by June 10th, the US release date of Planet Robobot. They're simpler than a boss fight, so I should probably be able to manage.
Also: Any comments containing spoilers for Kirby: Planet Robobot will be deleted. Don't post them.
wow the comic updated while I was reading the other pages
I thought the secret contender would be someone like Donkey Kong, but I guess Wario fits better.
@CapedLuigisYoshi: I don't get it. Was the game translated or was it an emulated game?
@Warpstar: My understanding of it is basically that the game sets itself to whatever language the 3DS system is set to. Combine that with the fact that the game's rom got put online immediately and that plenty of people have homebrew to get around region locks... yeah.
I mean, with all the weirdness in this comic, why not Wario?
@Nashew: Honestly, I think the reason I chose Wario was because he had those sprites that were pretty much the perfect size compared to the regular KSS sprites.
(I think they're from his boss stage in the first WarioWare? I'm not totally sure.)
Also Keeby won...again.
